Danny Boyle : Since 2002, Alex Garland & Danny Boyle – the writing / directing duo behind 28 Days Later – have talked about making a third movie in the apocalyptic franchise. It seems that the duo will finally get to make their dream of making a third film in the apocalyptic zombie franchise a reality.

According The Hollywood Reporter Garland and Boyle will reunite for 28 Years Later. The film is set in an (allegedly) destroyed world where a mysterious virus has turned people into zombie-like creatures who run around with a rage. Boyle will direct the film, while Garland will write it. This is similar to 28 Day Later, which featured Cillian Murphy and Naomie Harris.
Garland and Boyle were only executive producers of director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s 28 Weeks Laterfrom 2007. This film picked up the story from the first and explored how the rage virus spread outside Britain’s borders. 28 Years Later is a film that has not yet been given a start date, cast or distribution studio. The duo hopes to launch a new trilogy with this film.
