Apple TV Plus’ sci-fi lineup is already impressive, and the adaptation of Martha Wells’ The Murderbot Diaries will add to it.
Apple TV Plus has announced yet another sci-fi project. Apple TV Plus continues to grow its sci-fi presence with the announcement that it will adapt the murderbot diaries by author Martha Wells.
The show’s premiere date is not yet known, but it will be a 10-episode series with Alexander Skarsgard in the lead role. Chris and Paul Weitz are the showrunners. David S. Goyer, the Foundation adaptation for Apple TV Plus by Isaac Asimov will be an executive producer.

Apple describes the adaptation as “about a security android that is horrified by the human emotions but drawn to the vulnerable ‘clients’.” In the show “Murderbot” must hide its freedom and complete a hazardous assignment, when all it wants to do is be left alone and watch futuristic soaps and find its place in universe.
The Murderbotnews is the final announcement for Apple’s new sci-fi slate. The company announced last week that a psychological thriller titled Constellation will be streaming in February. Before that, had renewed titled Foundation for its third season. Silo, Monarch Legacy of Monsters and Invasion season 2 are other recent entries in the genre.
